Vintage Ceramic Toothbrush Holder – Yarra Glen Pottery
This rare piece of Australian ceramic history was handcrafted in the mid-1980s by the skilled artisans of Yarra Glen Pottery in Brisbane. Made from creamy white clay and finished in a clear gloss glaze, it features hand-painted fuchsia flowers in soft rose tones against a rich green band - a striking contrast that evokes country cottage charm.
Stamped on the base with "Handcrafted for Yarra Glen by Australian Clayworkers", this piece reflects the artistry of a beloved pottery studio that, at its peak, employed up to fifteen throwers and produced a wide range of handcrafted tableware, kitchenware and bar accessories before closing in 2000.
While the toothbrush holes may be too snug for some modern plastic toothbrushes, they’re the perfect fit for more sustainable wooden toothbrushes - a beautiful pairing of old-world craftsmanship with conscious living. It also makes a great desk caddy and organiser for makeup brushes.
