Vintage Double-Bowl Jam & Cream Stoneware Server by Alice Strutt Pottery
A beautiful piece of Australian studio pottery, this vintage stoneware jam and cream set by Alice Strutt Pottery features raised gumnut motifs, warm earthy glazes and elegant hand-inscribed lettering. The connected double-bowl design with a sturdy central handle makes it perfect for carrying from kitchen to table.
Alice Strutt is a talented multidisciplinary artist from Temagog, near Kempsey on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Believed to no longer be making pottery, pieces like this are becoming increasingly rare.
Originally made for serving jam and cream with fresh scones, it's equally lovely for honey and butter, chutneys and olives, or your favourite dipping sauces.
Unique, practical and unmistakably Australian, this is one of those special finds that reminds us handmade pieces have a warmth that mass-made tableware can never replicate.
