Vintage Glass Scallop Shell Footed Bowl
This vintage glass shell bowl captures the romance of the sea in sculptural form. Pressed from heavy clear glass with beautifully textured ribbing that catches and scatters the light, it rests on three integrated feet for a perfectly balanced base.
While flat shell plates are wonderfully abundant in the vintage world, large footed shell bowls of this size and depth are harder to come by.
This piece is likely European in origin, dating to the late 1970s or 1980s. While unmarked, it shares many characteristics with pressed glass produced by makers such as Walther Glass in Germany or similar Italian and French manufacturers of the era.
Perfect as a fruit, salad or seafood bowl, it also makes a wonderful catchall on an entry console for keys and sunglasses. For the entertainers, fill it with citrus, oysters on ice, or floating candles for effortless coastal styling.
Its clear glass glows beautifully in natural light, capturing the rippled texture of sparkling waves. Whether your style leans Palm Beach or Hollywood Regency, this is one of those pieces that slips effortlessly into a home as though it was always there.
